Revenge!

Bang! It was deafening. What was that noise? She inched closer, taking one step at a time towards the direction where the sound came from. Bang! It was that sound again, another ear-drum destroying sound. It was a gunshot. She raced back upstairs, sweat breaking out on her forehead. What could be going on in her living room? Who was shooting and who was being shot? These questions raced through her mind as she dialled 999 with shaky hands. It won’t connect. Bang! Bang! Two more gunshots were fired. Christ! Still trying to get the police, she inched down the stairs again wanting to know what exactly was happening. Then she heard footsteps. They were leaving, whoever they were. She raced upstairs onto the roof and looked out. Then she saw him, a well-dressed man walking out of her compound with a bag slung across one shoulder. He looked back and she ducked. She saw the face and it became imprinted on her mind, forever.

The memory came rushing back. It was her parents’ anniversary and she was in high spirit. The whole family was home, her parents and her two siblings. They had been in the living room sipping wine and quietly listening to their parents’ recount their story of love. She had dashed upstairs to get her phone when she heard the gunshots. She had also tried ringing 999 to no avail for some odd reason. She had watched him leave her house from her location on the roof of the house. Trembling and visibly shaken, she had rushed downstairs and found them all dead. The man had murdered her family in cold blood and had also gone with their money. She wept for days and her life came to an abrupt end. She vowed to take her revenge.

15years later, she was standing face to face with the same man that wiped out her entire family. She smiled and turned towards the door. She looked back and pulled the trigger on her pistol. Silence. He fell with a thud. She had screwed on a silencer onto her gun earlier. She tucked her gun into her belt and walked out accomplished. It felt good.

  1. How tragic....... She got her revenge at the end but it would have been much better if she hadnt lost her family in the first place....

Looking forward to the next post.....

Mission accomplished right but I feel there are better ways of handling this issue.

He that lives by the gun dies by the gun...
